Le combat débute entre deux anciens ennemis, Chris Jericho et Shawn Michaels. Chacun parvient à bloquer une des manoeuvres fétiches de son adversaire - le Lionsault de Jericho et la descente du coude du haut des cordes de Shawn Michaels. Après que tous deux soient au tapis suite à un Crossbody simultané, la première cellule s’ouvre et en sort Umaga qui fait maison nette sur le ring, parvenant même à porter un double Samoan Drop avec ses deux adversaires sur ses épaules. Umaga rate cependant un Splash du haut des cordes et Chris Jericho lui porte alors le Walls of Jericho, tandis que Shawn Michaels lui porte un Crossface! Umaga ne doit son salut qu’à l’entrée de JBL qui vient casser la prise. JBL s’attaque à Chris Jericho avec des coups brutaux et le fait chuter coude le premier sur le métal à l’extérieur du ring.
